The boy’s varsity tennis team traveled to the Balboa Tennis Club to compete in the CIF Frontier League Championships. All the top players from the Frontier League were in attendance. Representing GPA in singles were Brayan F. and Nathan C. Brayan played against the #1 player from Health Sciences. It was a hard fought battle, Brayan came up just shy of the win, losing 8-5. Our #1 singles player Nathan C. was pitted against the #1 players at SCY. Both players had their moments, some terrific rally’s but SCY prevailed winning 8-2. Our #1 doubles team of Muse K. and Fernando S. played the #2 team from SCY. Muse & Fernando started off with some great shots taking the early lead, but SCY came back to win 8-4.
The boys learned a lot playing in their first CIF league championships. They know that it’s going to take hard work to get their games to the next level. Many of them will be attending free clinics in the near future to improve their skills. Congratulations to all of our tennis players for a terrific season.
