It was standing room only at the Boys Varsity Basketball game yesterday. Even the upstairs area had fans watching from afar. This was the boys’ opening game vs. San Pasqual HS, played at the Jackie Robinson YMCA. Right at tip off our boys played some of the best basketball we’ve have seen in years.

First quarter our boys led the way with some fantastic steals by Victor D. and Nathanael D., both having a combined total of 11 steals, and most ended with a score. Well done, boys! Score at the 1st quarter was 19-14 GPA.

At the start of the second quarter and into the 3rd, it was all GPA with a commanding lead of 20 points. Fans were on their feet watching a fantastic game. Other highlights include Antonio A. making a 3 pointer, and 3 more points to help maintain the lead in the 3rd quarter. Way to go, Tony!

Finishing out the game, GPA held onto the lead and won 67-45. We saw some amazing play by all of our players. Passing, steals and great teamwork is what led to this win. They showed respect to each other and to the San Pasqual players. Well done, Mr. Perez! Looking forward to more games and seeing some amazing sportsmanship by all our players.
