Yesterday the boy’s varsity tennis team traveled to Roosevelt to play Health Sciences in very competitive match. Right out of the gate, Health Sciences start off with 6 points; you need 9 to win the event. Our GPA boys Nathan C, Brayan F, and Honorio Z. won 6 out of 8 matches giving GPA a slight lead going into doubles. Muse K, and Fernando S, won 1 out of their 2 matches to put GPA in front with 7 wins. Two matches left on the court, one was Brayan F. who had one of the longest matches all day. Brayan got to a tiebreaker, Brayan won 7-6. This gave the boys 9 points with one doubles match left. Our boys lost in doubles, which tied the score at 9-9. In the event of a tie it comes down to games won, GPA won 60 games and Health Sciences won 53. GPA wins!
