We are proud to announce that the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education voted unanimously (5-0) on July 7 to approve $32M to fund the construction of a new gymnasium and classroom building at Gompers Preparatory Academy. The Gymnasium will allow GPA to host practices and games at home for our growing CIF sports program, provide a multipurpose exercise and performance space for our middle and high school students, and will replace our aging locker rooms. The new high school academic building will replace our 28 portable classrooms with a permanent 2-story building, including a college preparatory lecture hall and “state of the art” science, computer and media labs. We look forward to collaborating with the District in the coming months and years to bring these important facilities improvements to our 60 year old campus. Go Eagles!
