JOHN S. – Boys Dance Captain

John Stewart is going onto his 6th year at GPA, as part of the magical and joyful Class of 2017. He has been attending GPA since the 7th grade and has always had a love for History. He plans to attend the University of California Berkeley in the fall of 2017, and major in Political Science and minor in Ethnic Studies. Stewart fell in love with being on stage as it allowed him to spread joy and bond with his Senior Family. He would also like to express gratitude to Director Riveroll for dedicating his time and effort to ensure the success of the upcoming Open House performance. He would also like to thank the choreographers, Ms. Elegado and Ms. Adams for pushing him to be the best dancer that he could be. And lastly, he would like to thank the Class of 2017 for being bold enough to step out of their comfort zones, and for having the courage to make their dreams a reality.

Ruben Castillo has attended Gompers Preparatory Academy since the 7th grade and is now a proud senior of the Class of 2017. His favorite subject is English and he plans to attend University of California, San Diego to major in Human Biology. Ruben worked hard his whole summer to practice for “Senior Magic” and is now excited to perfom in front of a large audience for the first time. Ruben performs on stage because he enjoys expressing himself in a new way and being a part of this production has helped him gain a new sense of courage and self-confidence. He would like to express his gratitude towards all the choreographers for their infinite support. Finally, he would like to thank Director Riveroll for inspiring and guiding him to always strive for the best.

Christian has attended GPA since the 7th grade and is looking forward to an outstanding senior year. He hopes to attend the University of California, San Diego and major in Computer Science. He is thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the “Senior Magic” production that brings so much joy to the school and the community. Christian admires the way that Disney inspires people around the world to dream and hopes to carry on that message through the performances. Performing has been a great way for him to grow closer to his senior family, the class of 2017. He would like to thank Director Riveroll, the choreographers, and all the staff members that have contributed to this amazing experience.

Jose has attended GPA since 6th grade and is a proud and honored member of the 2017 Senior Class. He is a person who likes to be active in anyway possible, his favorite subject is ENS. He would like to attend University of California, San Diego to major in Political Science. Jose performs on stage because he loves to challenge himself by learning new choreography. He appreciates the love and support the GPA staff has given him over the last 6 years. He would like to thank Director Riveroll for the opporunity to perform on stage on his final year. Finally, Jose would like to thank his mother for teaching him the value of hard work and persistence.

Ebiezer Damian has been at Gompers Preparatory Academy for 6 years and is now a senior for the 2016-2017 school year. His favorite subject is history and math. He plans on attending University of California, San Diego in the fall of 2017 and majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in history. Ebiezer loves being on stage because he has gained the confidence to be himself while dancing. Ebiezer would like to thank the staff at GPA, Director Riveroll, Ms.Tolentino, and Mr. Lake for their endless support.

Ezequiel Mora Mendez is a senior at Gompers Preparatory Academy in his 6th year at GPA. Ezequiel’s favorite subject is History and hopes to attending University of California, San Diego to major in Fine Arts. He dreams of someday owning his own clothing line. Ezequiel would like to thank Ms. Tolentino for being an incredible history teacher his junior year. Ezequiel would also like to thank his mother for her sacrifice of working two jobs to provide for him and his little sister so that they may have a good education.

DIANA D. – Girls Dance Captain

Diana has been attending Gompers Preparatory Academy for 6 years. Through her 6 years at GPA, she discovered her passions are in the Medical field and dance. Del Rio plans on majoring in Biology and going into Pre-Med at the University of California, San Diego. Diana loves to perform on stage to challenge herself, do what she loves, and bring others joy. Diana is very excited to perform with her Senior Family. She would like to thank all the staff at GPA because without them she would not be where she is today.

Jocelyn has been attending GPA since the 7th grade. Her favorite subject in school is English because she loves the idea of having multiple answers and different opinions. She would love to attend University of California, San Diego and major in Environmental Engineering. Jocelyn loves to be on stage because she loves to spread positivity with the audience and connect with them by giving them a good show and showing a great attitude. Jocelyn feels a huge connection with the rest of her peers when she is on stage because she feels joy and confidence dancing with them. Jocelyn is very greatful to have such amazing teachers who believe in her greatest potential. She thanks each and every staff member who is putting effort to see Jocelyn and her peers grow!

Leeza Jackson a now senior who has been attending GPA since sixth grade. She is planning on going to Howard University and majoring in Communication. Leeza has always been in love with the stage; her favorite part of performing is the ability to bring others joy. Leeza would like to thank her family who stayed by her side throughout life’s trials and all the staff and teachers at GPA who have loved and encouraged her.

Nakitha Khamphoukeo is a senior at GPA and has been attending GPA since the 7th grade. Her favorite subject is science and plans on attending University of California, San Diego to major in Biology. When she is on stage, she loves seeing the looks of awe and joy on the faces of the people in the audience. She would like to thank all of her teachers, friends and family for their support.

Tania has attended GPA since 7th grade and is a proud member of the class of 2017. She plans to attend University of California, Los Angeles to major in Nursing. Tania’s passion has always been in the performing arts. Tania is grateful for having such wonderful teachers and staff members who believe in her. She is inspired by the staff in GPA to not only help herself, but help those around her. Being on stage has helped her show her inner beauty towards others. Tania’s favorite part of performing are the bonds that she makes with other dancers, choreographers, and teachers and staff members who are a part of the production.

Edna Ruiz has been attending Gompers Preparatory Academy since the 7th grade and is now honored to be part of the class of 2017. Her favorite subject is Chemistry. Ruiz plans to attend the University of California, San Diego and major in BioChemistry. Edna started practicing for “Senior Magic” all summer long and being part of this performance has helped her gain courage. What Edna loves most about being on stage is the ability to express her personality through dance. She would like to thank all teachers and the class of 2017 for their immense and continuous love and support. Finally she would like to thank Director Riveroll for his words of wisdom and constant love.

Andres Arguelles Morales has attended Gompers Preparatory Academy since 6th grade. Andres’s favorite subject is history, he loves learning about the past and the events that shaped the world to what it is today. Andres plans on attending the University of California, San Diego. Andres’s favorite part about performing is that he can express his true self up on stage. Andres is extremely grateful for his mother and father who have supported him in all aspects of life. Andres is also grateful for all the teachers and staff that have helped him countless times throughout his journey; including but not limited to, Ms.Tolentino, Mr.Kelly, Mr.Young, and Director Riveroll. Andres can’t wait to participate in the Senior Magic Show and spread joy in his community.  

Adrian, is a very ambitious young man who attends Gompers Preparatory Academy. Adrian has been has been going to GPA for 4 years now and is now ready for his 5th and final year as a Senior. His favorite subject is History because he loves going back in time exploring how the world has changed though periods of time. Adrian plans on majoring in Business to build his own company for photography and films. Adrian plans on attending the University of California, Los Angeles. Adrian says that when he is on stage its like he feels invincible when he can connect with his dance group. Adrian would like to thank everyone who believed in him no matter at all times because it gave him the confidence to be who he wanted to be.

ERIC L.

Eric Lopez is a senior here at GPA and has been attending the school since the 7th grade. His favorite subject in school is science. Eric plans on attending NYU to major in Psychology and a minor in Dance. He loves the freedom that he feels on the stage and how he is able to bring happiness to others. He would like to thank Director Riveroll and teachers that helped out the class of 2017 over the summer to help them get ready for an amazing show.

Daniel Sison is a 12th grade student at Gompers Preparatory Academy. He’s been attending Gompers since the 6th grade. Daniel’s favorite subject in school is math, in fact, his passion for math is so strong that he plans on attending University of California, San Diego and major in Applied Mathematics. Daniel loves the fact that he is always having fun whenever he is on stage. Daniel is grateful for Director Riveroll, Ms. Cruz, and Mr. Valenzuela for giving him the opportunity to become part of the “Senior Magic” performance. Daniel would also like to thank Ms. Elegado and Ms. Adams for being the most hardworking choreographers for the “Senior Magic”!

Alex, a proud senior of the class of 2017, has attended GPA since the 6th grade. His favorite subject is science and he plans to attend the University of California, San Diego in the Fall of 2017 to major in Engineering and minor in Art and perhaps become a Music Engineer in the future. He has dedicated his entire summer in order to practice for “Senior Magic” and is ready to bring joy, not only to the senior class, but to the entire school. Alex would like thank Director Riveroll, Ms Adam, Ms. Elegado and the entire senior team for making this possible.

Herman Gonzalez has been attending Gompers for six years now. He hopes to attend the University of California, San Diego in the future and major in Mathematics. He loves the happiness that dance brings to himself and others. Herman would like to thank Ms. Chaffee, Ms. Adams, and Director Riveroll for believing in him and encouraging to push himself. Finally, he would like to thank his parents for their unconditional love and support throughout his life.

Dario Quiroz is a 12th grade student at Gompers Preparatory Academy. His favorite school subject is Science. He has been attending Gompers since the 6th grade. He plans on attending the University of California, San Diego and majoring in Human Biology. What he loves about being on stage is showing his joy to the world. He would like say thank you to Director Riveroll for giving him the opportunity this summer to dance and finally he would also like to thank his two dance teachers Mrs. Elegado and Ms. Adams for teaching the Class of 2017 how to dance.

Eduardo has attended GPA since the 7th grade and is now a proud senior of the amazing Class of 2017. He desires to attend California State University Northridge and major in Mechanical Engineering. Eduardo performs on stage because he enjoys the challenge that the choreography provides and he feels fortunate to have the opportunity to express his individuality outside of the classroom. 

Antonio is a current senior and has been attending Gompers Preparatory Academy since the 7th grade. Antonio plans to attend San Diego City College and then he would like to transfer to the University of California, San Diego. He is interested in becoming a Mechanical Engineer. Antonio’s favorite subject is math because he feels that everything has a solution. Antonio love to dance, have fun, and wants to enjoy his last year at GPA to the fullest. Antonio is really thankful for the teachers, staff and Director that gave up their summer to spend their time helping him and his peers.

Cesar has attended GPA since the 6th grade and is now a senior. He would like to attend the University of California, Riverside. Cesar has a passion for writing and dance. He loves how he can share his personality on stage while he performs. Cesar would like to thank the choreographers, Senior Teachers, and GPA staff for supporting him. Finally, he would like to thank Director for allowing him the opportunity to dance during the summer and during the school day. 

Michel Trinidad has been attending Gompers Preparatory Academy since 6th grade and is now a proud senior. She hopes to attend University of California, San Diego and major in Psychology. Michel is excited to share “Senior Magic” and joy to the rest of the GPA sudents and staff, as well as community members. She is thankful for the many opportunities Gompers Preparatory Academy has offered her.

Sandra has been at Gompers Preparatory Academy since 2010, entering as a sixth grade student and her favorite subject is mathematics. The college Sandra plans on attending is in Zacatecas Mexico called Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas (UAZ). Sandra’s plan is to study Medicine and become a Pediatrician one day and work in Fresnillo, Zacatecas. What Sandra loves about being on stage is that she can be herself, feel happy, and not judged. Sandra would like to give gratitude to The class of 2017 for always having a positive attitude toward everyone and being able to help others out when they need it. She would also like to thank the dance instructors for taking the time to teach the routines. Lastly, she would like to thank Director and Ms. Cruz for always reminding the seniors of 2017 how to become responsible and making senior year the best year ever!

Yocelyn has attended GPA since the 6th grade and is now a proud senior of the class of 2017. She plans to attend the University of California, San Diego and major in Psychology. She loves that the “Senior Magic” show has brought her and her peers closer as a family. She is so thankful to be able to perform in front of her fellow eagles, family, and community.

This is Joana’s last year here at Gompers Preparatory Academy as she has been attending here since the 7th grade. Her favorite subject is math. She plans on attending University of California, San Diego to major in Fine Arts. She loves the excitement of being on stage to perform in front of others. She would like to thank all the choreographers and Director for giving up their summer to be with the Class of 2017.

Vanessa Rojas is a proud senior that has been at Gompers for six years. She aspires to attend University of California, San Diego. Over the years she has found out that she wants to major in a Biological Science. Vanessa has grown a lot over the summer: dancing with her classmates and teachers has helped her step out of her comfort zone. She has gained self confidence and an attitude of gratitude. When she is on stage she loves to look at the audience and see the joy her performance gives them. Vanessa is so grateful that Director Riveroll provided the class of 2017 with this opportunity to bond over the summer. She is also grateful to Ms. Cruz and the teacher’s and staff that made “Senior Magic” possible. Finally, she would like to the Class of 2017 for making this summer experience unforgettable.

Daniela Antunez has been attending Gompers Preparatory Academy since the 7th grade and is now part of the Class of 2017. Daniela’s favorite subject is English because she loves to read and discover the different types of writings there are. She wishes to attend UC Berkeley and major in Psychology. Daniela loves being on stage because she loves to bring joy to herself, and she wants to spread that joy to her community and the whole senior class. Dancing on stage has given Daniela enough confidence to give the people of her community and the Class of 2017 the happiness they deserve to feel. Daniela would like to thank the Class of 2017, Director Riveroll, the choreographers, all backstage staff, and her parents for supporting her and helping her gain confidence and become a better dancer.
